The tour starts in the City of Sails! Auckland is known for its multicultural hub of food, music, arts, and culture. Explore all that Auckland has to offer. This is the perfect opportunity to visit the Sky Tower or shop along bustling Queen Street. You may even fancy a drink in one of the charming bars or eateries of Vulcan Lane.
Ignite your taste buds on this delicious culinary adventure in Auckland departing Wellington aboard the scenic Northern Explorer train. From private vineyards, to signature restaurants, coffee roasteries and sizzling BBQs, you'll be left in a blissful state of satisfaction.
This is one of the most charming viaducts on the Northern Explorer journey; its graceful 201-metre curve is a photo opportunity not to be missed. While travelling on the concrete viaduct, you will also see the abandoned original 1908 steel truss viaduct, which is now used as part of the Ohakune to Horopito Old Coach Road mountain bike route.
