Power to the Pedal was founded in 2017 by Eddie Jack. A Scotsman who has lived and cycled around Auckland for over 20 years, Eddie is a enthusiastic advocate for cycling around the city. He launched Power to the Pedal to showcase Auckland – by exploring its fantastic cycleways and experiencing the joy of riding an electric bike (especially up Auckland’s many extinct volcanic cones!). Eddie has assembled a small team of expert local guides who share his passion for Auckland.
Power to the Pedal aims to provide our riders with the best possible way to experience Auckland. We run our electric bike guided tours throughout the day:
* a morning tour – The Classic - taking in up to 30kms of city centre highlights
* an afternoon tour – The Inside Loop - riding round our cool central neighbourhoods
* a unique evening tour – The City Lights - checking out the lights around Auckland city centre at night and riding the famous Lightpath (aka the ‘Pink Path’!)
Our electric bikes are also available for half day or full day rentals, so our customers can explore Auckland on their own if they wish. All tours and rentals depart from and return to our base at the Park Hyatt Auckland – perfectly positioned on Auckland’s beautiful waterfront.
- Our tours and rentals depart from and return to our base at the Park Hyatt Auckland. We meet our riders outside the entrance to the excellent Pantry café at the hotel.
- We are committed to high quality, small group experiences. Our scheduled morning and afternoon tours are limited to 6 riders and one guide. Our evening tours are limited to 4 riders and one guide.
- We can take private groups of up to 12 riders out – we provide 2 guides for those groups. Whilst we ride together, we ride in 2 groups of 6 plus a guide each.

- We provide a cycle tour headset – so our riders can safely enjoy live commentary from your guide as you ride.
- Our base is perfectly located right in the heart of the city – close to many hotels and the cruise ship terminals.
- We provide maintain a fleet of high quality electric bikes, that flatten Auckland's hills.

The Jellicoe Street car park is 450 metres from our base at the Park Hyatt hotel. A 5-minute walk from our base.
