MOTAT Aviation Hall is part of the Auckland Conventions Venues & Events portfolio.
Taiwhanga Rererangi - Aviation Hall at MOTAT is home to one of the world's most unique aircraft collections and is a multi-award-winning space.

This stunning venue is located at Te Wai Ōrea Western Springs and can host cocktail events, award ceremonies, gala dinners and more. Welcome your guests under the nose of the Avro Lancaster Bomber, dine beneath the Solent and Sunderland flying boats and finish the evening taking in the spectacular view of the aircraft collection.

It is an ideal venue for cocktail functions for up to 500 guests and seated gala dinners for up to 350 guests. We work with a select group of leading catering companies that have proven experience in delivering excellent catering, ensuring our clients get choice across providers, menus, and price points.

Sustainability

Natural ventilation: The building uses natural ventilation and a thermal chimney to reduce the need for artificial heating and lighting.
Sustainable materials: The building uses laminated veneered lumber (LVL) for its portal frames, which is a sustainable material option. The timber veneer linings are also sustainably sourced.
Rainwater harvesting: The building has a rainwater harvesting system for the toilet facilities.
Recycled land: The building is located on a former landfill, making use of recycled land.
Sustainable design: The building's design was guided by sustainable principles from the beginning, including life-cycle analysis and research into the carbon balance and embodied energy of different structural options.
Sustainable awards: The building has won several sustainability awards.
